STORM IN THE NIGHT

Don't be afraid of the darkness;
See, there's a calm inner light:
Out of it springs onl y goodness,
Out of the storm in the night.

And out of a cloud of unknowing
Shines the clear eternal light.
Slowly the daylight is growing
Out of the storm in the night.

Leaving my roof and the four walls,
Where I felt safe and secure:
Venturing into the new world,
Where nothing is safe any more.

And out of a cloud of unknowing...

Walking alone on the sea strand,
Swept and fresh-combed by the tide:
Meeting a stranger at whose hand
All of my certainties died.

And out of a cloud of unknowing...
