WOKE UP ONE MORNING
I woke up one morning, eyes at the back of my head,
Saw my face in the mirror, could have sworn that I was dead,
Well I'd been out drinking on the night before,
Couldn't help wondering what I'd done it for,
Got up that morning, wished I'd stayed in bed.
Been out drinking, so many times before (so many times before),
But I'm telling you now, I won't do it no more (no no no more),
And I'll even tell you the reason why,
Well I found out that Jesus died,
And He gave me His Spirit,
Of that I'm really sure.
Well Jesus lives now in my heart (& in my mind & in my soul),
Jesus gave me a brand new start (He made me whole),
So I praise Him in the morning and I praise Him at night,
In the glory of the sun and the pale moonlight,
Jesus, lives now in my heart.
No more mornings eyes at the back of my head (no more, no more, no more),
No more mornings looking like I was dead (brown bread),
No no no no more drinking on the night before,
No more wondering what I'd done it for,
I get up praising Jesus, glad I'm out of bed,
I get up praising Jesus, glad I'm out of bed.
For there is
