How bright the radiant star of grace
Against the darkest sky of guilt
In whose forgiving rays we trace
The light from which our hope is built

How noble stand the worst of us
When basking in this healing light
But in its shade the best of us
Remain in unforgiving night

I stare, I ponder, filled with awe
It holds the centre of my gaze
I know that I can do no more
Than yield my heart in constant praise
